Eligible nonprofits must offer services and programs to Mecklenburg County residents and meet other considerations such as having 501(c)(3) classification with the Internal Revenue Service.
Historically, the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners designates funds in the annual budget to finance the work of selected nonprofit agencies.

The County is looking for vendors who can provide services in the following areas:
• Improved high school graduation rates
• Train and place unemployed workers
• Prevent health risks and diseases
• Promote financial self-sufficiency
The grant award funding period is for Fiscal Year 2012, from July 2011 to June 2012.
