Description1 Beginning Jan. 24, the Meck Teen Chefs program will offer an eight-week class taught by Executive Chef Susanne Dillingham designed to teach teenagers everything from where food comes from before arriving in the store to cake-decorating.
The class will be held Mondays from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. through March 21 at Charlotte Presbyterian Church, 701 Scaleybark Rd. The cost is $15 per session which includes food, a uniform (hat and jacket) a folder for all recipes and PowerPoint lessons, totaling $120 for all eight weeks.
The class is set up so the teens can learn a large amount of information through lessons and hands-on activities. The last class will feature a Teen Chef Cook-Off. Participants will receive a certification of completion and be crowned as one of Charlotte’s Teen Chefs All-Stars.
In order to attend the Meck Teen All-Star program, you must have attended and successfully completed the Meck Teen Chef program as a prerequisite. If you did not attend the prerequisite program, you must successfully complete a test to show that you are ready to be All-star Chef.
