Mecklenburg County's current financial status report shows about $5.4 million in projected surplus revenue, according to Director of Finance Dena Diorio.
This news puts the County in a better position than the same time last year when a $33 million shortfall resulted in mid-year budget reductions.
"We've righted the ship and I feel good that our budget is structurally sound," Diorio said.
