Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and Central Piedmont Community College presented their FY14 budget requests to the Board of County Commissioners on May 23.
CMS, with a total budget of $1.2 billion, requests $365.9 million from the County. Interim County Manager Bobbie Shields recommends that CMS receive $361.4 million.
CPCC, with a total budget of $190.6 million, is asking the County for $33.5 million. Shields has recommended $30.1 million.
The Board of County Commissioners will conduct straw votes on the budget on June 11 and June 12 and is scheduled to adopt a budget on June 18.
