Only two weeks remain for the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners as they work towards adoption of the County's FY2015 Operating Budget.
The process that began nearly six months ago is set to conclude when the Board votes to approve the new budget on June 17. Before the budget is adopted, the Board will hold workshops to learn more about the budget from staff
and hear what residents have to say at a Public Hearing on June 11 at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.
Important dates in the Budget Calendar include:
• June 10 at 3:00 p.m.-Board of County Commissioners Budget Workshop
• June 11 at 6:00 p.m.-Budget Public Hearing for the Board to receive citizen comments
• June 12 at 3:00 p.m.-Board holds straw vote sessions
• June 17 at 6:00 p.m.-Board will adopt FY2015 Operating Budget
After 5 p.m. on Monday, June 9, you must sign up when you arrive at the meeting on June 11th.
Time Allotment: An organization represented by one person or an individual representing him or herself is allowed three minutes to speak. Each organization is allowed no more than four speakers with a time allotment of ten minutes total for the group. NOTE: The Board reserves the right to alter these rules on a case-by-case basis as necessary for the efficient and effective conduct of business.
