​Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte, and the Charlotte Housing Authority recently announced the recipients of funds and vouchers to help provide affordable permanent housing for individuals and families who are homeless.

In December 2013, the three organizations released a joint request for proposals seeking applications for supportive housing developments and supportive housing services. Following is a list of the recipients:

Up to $276,494 in supportive services dollars over three years from Mecklenburg County
The Salvation Army
Center of Hope Third Floor Expansion Development
$500,000 from the Housing Trust Fund provided by the City of Charlotte for an addition of 64 beds to the current facility
Centro Bono Foundation
Centre Terrace Development
$350,000 from the Housing Trust Fund provided by the City of Charlotte for rehabilitation of 16 affordable housing apartment units
Carolina CARE Partnership
HIV/AIDS Homeless Supportive Services Program
Up to $463,256 in supportive service dollars from Mecklenburg County over three years
