TAKE THE 2013 COMMUNITY HEALTH ASSESSMENT
Every four years, Mecklenburg Healthy Carolinians and the Mecklenburg County Health Department conduct a community health assessment to identify and prioritize issues affecting the public health of our community. We invite you to participate in this process by filling out the 2013 survey. The survey is available in English and Spanish and answers are anonymous.

MAY IS NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
MeckLINK Behavioral Healthcare has arranged several activities throughout May to promote mental wellness and to educate the public about mental illness and how to receive services. Read more

2ND ANNUAL CROWNS OF ENTERPRISE AWARDS CEREMONY SET FOR MAY 23
In recognition of Small Business Month, Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte will partner for the 2nd annual Crowns of Enterprise Awards Ceremony to honor small, minority and women-owned businesses in our community. The event is Thursday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Palmer Building, 2601 East 7th Street, Charlotte.


PARK AND RECREATION SUMMER GET GOING GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE
The 2013 Park and Recreation Summer Get Going Guide is now available online at www.parkandrec.com. The guide includes information on affordable programs and events for all ages, occurring June through August, as well as the latest on Romare Bearden Park and the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex. Check it out here

GET READY FOR SUMMER READING 2013!
Summer is right around the corner and with it comes Summer Reading at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. Research shows that the gains made for children during Summer Reading helps them beat summer "brain drain" and be better prepared when they return to school in the fall. Summer Reading runs from June 11 - August 9 and sign-ups for children, teens and adults start May 21 at http://www.cmlibrary.org/summerread.
