Help Mecklenburg County Wipe Out Waste

On Saturday, Nov. 17, from 8 a.m. - noon, all four County full service recycling centers will have professionals shredding household documents and collecting old electronics for no cost.

Naming Ceremony of the Judge Clifton E. Johnson Building

The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners will host a Naming Ceremony for the Judge Clifton E. Johnson Building on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. In memory of his life and service, the Board voted to name the building at 700 East 4th Street, Charlotte, N.C., in his honor.

Mecklenburg County to Close LUESA North Office in Huntersville

Due to shrinking budgets and expanding technology, Mecklenburg County’s Land Use & Environmental Services Agency (LUESA) will close the LUESA North office in Huntersville on Nov. 30.

Mecklenburg County, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Announce Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

Mecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed on Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, 2012 for the Thanksgiving holiday. All Charlotte Mecklenburg Library branches will close early at 5 p.m. on Nov. 21 and remain closed all day Nov. 22.

The winter 2012-2013 issue of Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s Get Going Guide is now available online. This issue launches an all-new design with easier-to-use information on programs for all ages occurring in December 2012 and January and February 2013. The spring 2013 issue will be available in February and will cover programs occurring in March, April and May.
