Early Voting Continues Through Nov. 3

Early voting will continue through Nov. 3 at the Hal Marshall Annex and 21 other locations across Mecklenburg County. Absentees ballots may be request up until Oct. 30. Learn more

FY2013 Adopted Budget Book Online

A new budget year for Mecklenburg County began on July 1, 2012, and now the full funding plan that supports how the County will do its business is in book form and available online. The Fiscal Year 2013 Adopted Budget Book is filled with graphics, charts, tables, text, lists and photos that break down the $1.43 billion budget into chunks of easy to navigate and understand information.

Park and Rec Wins 2012 Gold Medal Award

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation has been selected as the 2012 National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Gold Medal Award winner. Established in 1965, the Gold Medal Award honors U.S. communities that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and agency recognition. Nov. 17, 2012: 'Wipe Out Waste Day' is on the Way

On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. - noon, all four Mecklenburg County Full Service Recycling Centers will have professionals shredding household documents and collecting old electronics for no charge. The first 25 cars to bring items to each recycling center will receive special giveaways. Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Huntersville Police departments will be on hand to ensure safety and secure document destruction. Read more
