What's Going on at SouthView Recreation Center

Youth Athletics: Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year. All youth athletics programs are Recreation Center based and take place at various parks and recreation centers throughout Mecklenburg County.  For more information on Youth Athletics and information on how to register please visit the Youth Athletics Page.

 
 
The Boulevard Homes Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club S.W.A.G.has relocated into the Southview Recreation Center. They provide an afterschool program as well as a summer day camp experience for children in the Southview community. Watch our Video

Young Energetic Scholars
Join other preschoolers as they explore educational games, fun and arts & crafts.

Preschoolers will take part in exciting movement games and activities that help build their large motor skills.

Step Team
Come out and learn choreographed step routines.

Dance Team
This all-girls dance team has performed all across Charlotte to inspirational music of all genres! Come learn various choreographed dance routines and find out how to express yourself through movement.

Y.I. Get Buckets
Youth will learn the fundamentals of basketball through fun drills and games. They will also participate in academic tutoring sessions as well as a mentoring component.

S.W.A.G. (Sisters With Amazing Gifts) Club Meeting
Girls will participate in various activities that teach them how to be LADIES. Activities include skits, teambuilding, manicures, community service projects and more!

Urban Book Club
Youth will read an age-appropriate book that will allow them to explore the exciting world of reading as they build their reading and comprehension skills.

SENIORS

DSS Senior Nutrition Program
Seniors come together in a caring and supportive atmospheres for social, recreational and educational opportunities for age 60-up. Sessions include lunch daily, seminars, classes, field trips or special events. Meets Monday through Friday from 9a-1p and visitors are welcomed.
