Things To Do At Tom Sykes 


 Summer Camps -  all camps run 9a-5p Monday - Friday and cost $80 per child.  Registration starts February 1st and spots go quickly.

Each week campers are asked to bring a lunch and a morning snack, we will provide an afternoon snack for participants. Campers should wear tennis shoes or closed toed shoes, we will be outside and the activities planned work best with tennis shoes. We will send out the camper information packet the week before camp and ask that it be brought in the first day of camp.


Inventive Builders: (AGES 9-13)  Your creative builder will have a chance to test their best building techniques. We will work on LEGO projects and use our imaginations to build out own projects. Campers will learn hands on techniques that will allow them to become creative thinkers, problem solvers and effectively work in organized teams.

 All sessions are full - please call the center if you would like to be added to the waitlist for the camps.

4-H Motorsports: (AGES 9-12) Participants in the camp will experience the life od a pit crew as they design, update and race radio controlled cars. Using specific math, engineering and technology skills, the campers will solve real-life racing problems.

4-H Motorsports 2- Quest for Speed: (AGES 8-12) Participants will work on building different cars and vehicles to explore different propulsion systems.  Campers will use different math and engineering principals to solve real life problems.

Youth Athletics: Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers a wide variety of athletic programs to youth participants throughout the year.
