Description:
One of Mecklenburg County's newest greenways, this trail parallels the County's southern border and will provide linkages to many neighborhoods within Mecklenburg and Union counties.  The trail was developed through a partnership with LUESA (Land Use and Environmental Services Agency).

Directions:
This greenway is located at the most southern tip of Mecklenburg County.

- Take Ballantyne Commons Parkway to Hwy 521
- Follow Hwy 521 South to Ardrey Kell Rd & turn Left
- Go to Marvin Rd. & turn Right
- Follow Marvin Rd. to greenway entrance on right
Entrance to greenway is between Patterson Rd and Firethorne Country Club

Nature Facts:
521 District Park and Recreation Center, once known as Boys Town and Elon Homes for Children, doesn't have a permanent name yet, but the first phase of this 300-acre specialty park continues.

The facility master plan includes four baseball and six soccer fields, a soccer stadium, walking trails, and playground areas. In the midst of the overwhelming growth in the Ballantyne area, discover the serene environment and enjoy the natural surroundings.
