SIGN-UP NOW FOR UNIQUE, FUN CAMP FOR SENIOR CITIZENS OFFERED TUESDAYS DURING JULY AT WILLIAM DAVIE PARK

Charlotte, NC—Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is now accepting registration for a special day camp for senior citizens each Tuesday in July, 10am-1:45pm at William R. Davie Park Conference Center, 4635 Matthews-Pineville Road (Highway 51). This camp is offered to ages 55 and better. 

The “Summer Leisure and Learn Senior Adult Camp” will feature topics including Angels and Demons with Dr. John Munro, Organic Vegetable Gardening with Don Rosenberg, Jewelry Making for Beginners, a special Technology 101 course on secrets” your grandchildren know about cell phones like texting, short cuts, voice mail, digital cameras, computers and new HDTV, Leaving a Legacy: Preserving your Family History and Genealogy, Chef Jason's cooking class, and Discover the Best Medicine Most Doctors Won't Prescribe."  

Special speakers will include Jim Garges, Director of Park and Recreation, and Marty Garges, Director of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Centers. There will be an optional field trip to the Yadkin Valley August 4 to complete the experience. Lunch will be included each day. This camp is offered in partnership with Summit Place of South Park, EarthFare, and Panera Bread.
