Free Silver Arts Workshops For Seniors At Ivory Baker Rec Center

Charlotte, NC— Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites seniors, ages 50 and better who are interested in the arts to register now for Silver Arts workshops at Ivory Baker Recreation Center, 1920 Stroud Court. These FREE workshops will be held monthly through May. The first is on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10 am.

These workshops include visual, literary, performing and "heritage" arts, such as basket weaving, china painting, crocheting, knitting, pottery, weaving and woodcarving). The workshops offer an opportunity to get started, build confidence, and/or for participants to advance in "Silver Arts." The Silver Arts program is part of Charlotte Mecklenburg Senior Games, which hold a major arts competition for seniors next spring.
