Charlotte, NC-- Latta Plantation Equestrian Center offers horse-drawn carriage rides to a farm to pick out a Fraser Fir Christmas tree on weekends-- now until Christmas Eve. Anyone interested should come to the general store at the equestrian center, 6201 Sample Road, Huntersville.

The trees cost $20-$80. The carriage rides are 10am-4pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The rides are FREE with the purchase of a Christmas tree or cost $5 per person just for the ride. Children, ages 6 and younger, ride for free.

Latta Equestrian Center is part of Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, a Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation facility. The equestrian center is run by a private operator under contract with Park and Recreation, and also offers horses for rent for rides on trails through the nature preserve.
