Charlotte, NC—Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites the public to the seventh anniversary celebration of Ray’s Splash Planet, 215 N. Sycamore Street, 10am-3pm Saturday, October 17, 2009. The celebration will feature a variety of games, activities and food.

Festivities for youngsters and families will take place on the front lawn of Splash Planet and include FREE cake, prizes, carnival games, and inflatable slides. Park and Recreation’s mascot, Ray (whose name means Recreate All Year), will be there to greet his many friends.

Regular admission will be charged for swimming and play in the water park inside the building.

Ray’s Splash Planet was built in 2002 on the campus of Irwin Avenue Open Elementary School as a joint venture between Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The facility includes a water park, fitness center, party rooms, playground, and concessions.
