September 10, 2009

Charlotte, NC— Our Children’s Memorial Walkway in Frazier Park, 1201 West Fourth Street in uptown Charlotte, now offers a new section of the walkway as a place of remembrance for military personnel killed in the line of duty.

Families may “Adopt a Brick” until September 30, 2009 to honor the memory of loved ones who died in service to America. The engraved bricks will be installed into the walkway in time for a dedication service, at 10am, November 11 which is Veteran’s Day.  Either single bricks or double bricks are available. Single bricks cost $50 and hold three lines of characters. Double bricks cost $100 and hold four lines of characters plus a logo of the branch of service in which the person being memorialized served.

Our Children’s Memorial Walkway now has about 1200 bricks that memorialize the lives of persons of all ages. The walkway was created by Our Children’s Memorial Walkway, Inc., in partnership with Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department and several grief groups.
