The 2008-2009 Nature of Mecklenburg Photography Contest and Exhibition is conducted by Partners for Parks and the Charlotte Region of the Carolinas’ Nature Photographers Association to underscore the beauty of Mecklenburg County’s parks, nature preserves and greenways and as a fundraiser to support Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department’s facilities and programs.
Forty- five photographers submitted 136 entries, and the contest produced extraordinary scenes captured by photographers, who paid $15 for the right to enter each set of up to three photographs.
