Charlotte, NC-- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites individuals with physical/visual disabilities, ages 13 and older, to sign-up for a Paralympic sled hockey clinic on Saturday, May 15, 2010, 2pm-4pm, at Extreme Ice Center, 4705 Indian Trail-Fairview Road, Indian Trail, NC.
Sled hockey is a Paralympic sport similar to traditional hockey but uses a sled with skates mounted under the seat and two modified sticks. The clinic will introduce people to the sport and focus on skill development and rules of the game.
This clinic is offered through the Therapeutic Recreation Section’s Paralympic Sport Metrolina program. This program promotes physical activity among youth and adults with physical and visual disabilities.
