Support National Day Of Service And Remembrance By Volunteering In Freedom Park
8/31/2010
National Day of Service and Remembrance was established to encourage all Americans to participate in service activities in observance of the anniversary of 9/11 each year.
Charlotte, NC-The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department will participate in the second officially-designated National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11 with landscaping and beautification projects in Freedom Park. Service projects will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon.

The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance is the result of a seven-year effort started by 9/11 family members and support groups to encourage all Americans to  participate in service activities in observance of the anniversary of 9/11 each year. It strives to honor the victims and heroes of that tragic day and rekindle the unity that brought Americans and the world together in the immediate aftermath of the attacks.

To participate, contact Lori.Saylor@MecklenburgCountyNC.gov to sign up. Please include your name, the number of volunteers in your group and your phone number.
