Charlotte, NC -- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites citizens to comment on a new conceptual plan for the design and construction of a .4-mile section of Stewart Creek Greenway from West Trade Street to Rozzelle’s Ferry Road, in the Smallwood neighborhood. The Advisory Council of the Central Park District will host a community workshop for citizens to present ideas and comments on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 6pm at the Wallace Pruitt Recreation Center, 440 Tuckaseegee Road.
This greenway will be developed in partnership with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Development Corporation that built Greenway Business Park beside the proposed greeway near Rozzelle’s Ferry Road and Zebulon Avenue. The corporation will help fund the greenway as part of an effort to revitalize the surrounding area.
