Charlotte, NC -- Celebrity dog trainer and author Kyra Sundance and the Sundance Dog Team will perform three shows at this Saturday's Pedigree® Bark in the Park Presented by Food Lion and the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department.

The performances will take place at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. The festival, now in its seventh year, is being held at Rural Hill in Huntersville for the first time. Historic Rural Hill is located at 4431 Neck Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. The special guest stars of this year's Pedigree® Bark in the Park were made possible by a sponsorship from Happy Paws Daycare & Kennel, also in Huntersville.

Bark in the Park drew more than 14,000 people last year, most with dogs. The festival features contests like Best Costume, Best Bark, Largest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Trick, Disc Throw and Catch, and Disc Long-Shot Catch. Register for contests at the festival. Included this year will be exhibits, dog products, adoptable dogs, prize drawings and many great dogs to see and greet! (All dogs on leashes, please.)

Sundance and her dogs have appeared on "The Tonight Show," "Ellen," “Entertainment Tonight" and on Animal Planet's "Pet Star" program. They have also performed at halftime shows during games of the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and Major League Baseball.

Sundance, who is from Orange County, CA, is best known for her book, "101 Dog Tricks,” a bestseller which has been translated into 16 languages.
