Charlotte, NC -- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, in partnership with the
Centralina Area Agency on Aging, will host a FREE six-week program designed to help adults dealing with chronic illness, and caregivers working with those who are chronically-ill, better manage and understand their symptoms. The program will take place on Fridays from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., Feb. 3 – March 9, 2012, at
Bette Rae Thomas Recreation center.
The program will include information on:
- Appropriate use of medications
- Managing symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and depression
- Improving communications
- Healthy eating
- Solving problems and goal setting
- Increasing self-confidence
- Managing stress and other emotions
- And making informed treatment decisions
