Outdoor Pools, Spraygrounds are Now Open for the Season

Park and Recreation’s outdoor pools will offer FREE swimming lessons for all ages at both pools. Pool admission remains $1 and spraygrounds are free!
Charlotte, NC- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department’s outdoor swimming pools and spraygrounds are now open for the summer season.  Pool admission is $1 and spraygrounds are FREE. 

Pools will be open every weekend through Labor Day and weekdays after school closes (June 8). Park and Recreation’s outdoor pools are:

Regular operating hours for swimming will be Saturdays 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sundays 1 - 5 p.m., Monday–Friday (including Memorial Day Monday) noon-6 p.m. 

Free Swim Lessons  

Park and Recreation’s outdoor pools will offer FREE swimming lessons for all ages at both pools. Registration for lessons will be accepted, beginning on Wednesday, June 13, at the pool you wish to attend. Registration will be taken every Wednesday beginning at noon for the following week only. Registration is week-by-week and must be done in person. No phone reservations will be taken. All reservations are first come, first served. Spots are limited. 

World's Largest Swimming Lesson Event  June 14

Park and Rec will participate as a host site for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson 2012 on Thursday, June 14 beginning at 11 a.m. Double Oaks Pool will serve as the venue for the event which is a global effort aiming to spread awareness about the importance of teaching children how to swim. Waterparks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the world will host local WLSL lessons simultaneously in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. If you would like to participate in the WLSL, please register at either of the two neighborhood pools.
