NCDT REACH! Provides Quality Dance Lessons to Charlotte-Area Youth
NCDT REACH! is North Carolina Dance Theatre's nationally recognized outreach dance scholarship program for children ages 7 to 10.
Acquisition of Land in Huntersville to Serve as Parkland
In late July, Mecklenburg County purchased 137 acres on McIlwaine Road in the Town of Huntersville from The Trust for Public Land. The property will be used as additional parkland in the northern part of the County.

Naomi Drenan Recreation Center will host a Youth Sports Experience Day for kids, ages 3 - 8, on August 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event aims to teach youth the fundamentals of various sports while also stressing the importance of good sportsmanship.
Back to School Bash at Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center Set for Aug. 11
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, in partnership with the Greater Enderly Neighborhood Association, Community Alliance and Project Safe Neighborhoods, will host a Back to School Bash to help students prepare for the upcoming school year.
