Marion Diehl Hosts 30th Annual Showcase of Woodcarvings Feb 16 and 17
Marion Diehl Recreation Center, 2219 Tyvola Road, will host the 30th Annual Showcase of Woodcarvings on Feb. 16 and 17. The family-friendly event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and is free to attend.
More than 100 carvers from 10 southeastern states will exhibit between 500 and 600 carvings in competition for a grand prize of $1,800. This year's theme is "The Wild Wild West."

The event will also include seminars, demonstrations, vendors for carving supplies, and selling of carvings by nationally-known carvers.

Tom Wolfe, a professional woodcarver from North Carolina who has written several books on the subject, will host a carving competition both days of the show.

The showcase is sponsored by the Charlotte Woodcarvers Club.
