Senior Citizen Programs - MeckSeniors

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers many programs for senior citizens including senior clubs and trips. We strive to provide programs that will help enhance your life; continue to give you more knowledge and help to maintain an active lifestyle. Please visit Eparks to search for upcoming programs. To sign up for programs you may register online, call 311 or the phone number listed. If you know the barcode for the desired program you may search by that number.

Upcoming Programs

Cinderella Dress Rehearsal Performance - this performance is a fully costumed and staged dress rehearsal of Cinderella. The performance proceeds go to support the REACH dance program that bring dance to at risk youth within Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation.

 Yadkin Valley Vineyard Tour

North Carolina's Piedmont region is filled with rolling hills, growing skylines, picturesque farms, and exciting venues. You'll also find many NC Vineyards with the same unique mix of experiences. Spend some time experiencing North Carolina's finest vineyards through the Yadkin Valley. Tour includes stops at: Deveste Vineyards, Shadow Springs Vineyard and Brandon Hills Vineyard. Lunch will be on your own.

NC Museum of Art - " Close to Home: A Decade of Acquisitions"
You don't want to miss this collection of art work by artist from all over North Carolina. This collection has nearly 650 works by photographers, sculptures and mixed-media works acquired by the museum in the last 10 years.  Lunch will be on your own.

Biltmore Blooms
If you have never taken a guided tour of the Biltmore you don't want to miss this. Experience the breath-taking views of the gardens at the Biltmore on your own pace along with a guided tour of history mansion. Lunch will be on your own.

Barn Theater - " Groovin- Featuring The Barn Band sounds of the 60's  & 70's
This is a very popular trip. Come out and get your old school groove on at the Barn. Join the fun with this high energy-musical revue of many of the chart-topping hits of the 60's & 70's. This toe-tapping time machine of a show is fun for everyone!

Shatley Springs & Cheese Factory Tour
Come enjoy country cooking, the famous spring water and the beautiful mountain scenery. We will stop to see the Ben long Frescos and the Ashe County Cheese Factory. Lunch is not included at Shatley Springs.
