Compost Central Relocation Project Resources
Due to the proposed expansion to the Charlotte Douglas Airport, Compost Central and the adjacent West Mecklenburg Recycling Center will be relocated from their current site on West Boulevard to the 6500-6700 blocks of Rozzelles Ferry Road.

The new, 50-acre compost and recycling operations center will provide residents with more convenient access to the County’s primary yard trimmings management facility and only composting center. Residents will also be able to better utilize the full services of the West Mecklenburg Recycling Center, where a broader range of items -- such as cans, bottles, paper, electronics, household chemicals and tires -- can be recycled.
