Directions:
From I-77 South...turn right onto Billy Graham Parkway towards the airport...turn left onto West Boulevard and travel about 1 1/2 miles. Turn left onto Piney Top Drive. The entrance to the recycling center is on Piney Top, just before it intersects with Byrum Drive.

Household Construction & Demolition Debris:
Mecklenburg County will accept residents' wood waste (framing timbers, pallets, crates, spools, sheathing, treated lumber/decking), inert material (concrete, brick, asphalt pavement, mortar, sheetrock, rock, gravel), plastic (pipe, buckets, wrap), and other (shingles**, fiberglass bath fixtures, tile, ceramic, carpet, padding). Residents will be charged $22 per pickup truck or trailer 12 feet or less. This service is available to Mecklenburg County Residential users only. Businesses can take C&D waste to the Foxhole Landfill, 17131 Lancaster Highway, 704-752-5827.
**If shingles are brought in on a trailer less than 12 feet, they can make up no more than 50% of the materials being disposed of. If the shingles are more than 50% of the load, they must be taken to the Foxhole Landfill.
We cannot accept mixed loads. Yard waste, construction/demolition debris, and bulky trash must be separated from each other prior to coming to the facility.
Household Hazardous Waste Disposal: Mecklenburg County helps residents safely dispose of their household hazardous waste (HHW). Most HHW may be taken the North Mecklenburg Recycling Center, Hickory Grove Recycling Center, West Mecklenburg Recycling Center and Foxhole Recycling Center where it is collected by ECOFLO, a licensed HHW transfer, storage and disposal facility. Call 704-336-7759, for a brochure about what constitutes HHW and how to store and prepare it for transfer to these recycling centers.
Other:
This center also accepts household garbage (which is everything else that can't be recycled or composted) and bulky waste items (mattresses, chairs, etc.) from county residents at no charge for disposal
