Curb Recycling
Curious about where all of the recyclables that are picked up at the curb and at schools go? The Metrolina Recycling Center is the county's processing facility for a wide range of materials collected in residential, schools and commercial recycling programs in Mecklenburg and neighboring counties. Recyclables brought to the facility are sorted and prepared for market.

Free tours of the center are available. Tours are tailored to any age group. The facility has an Environmental Education Center. The state-of-the-art Education Center is furnished with the latest audio-visual equipment, including a remote control camera that allows visitors to see all of the operational activities of the facility.
