Community Partnerships for Older Adults, a national program sponsored by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, announces that Just1Call is an innovative program in North Carolina which puts seniors and disabled adults one call away from a wealth of helpful information.
Geriatric Best Practices
Just1Call was chosen to be one of the sixteen best practices presentations at the Geriatric Best Practices: Successful and Sustainable Systems and Methods conference along with eleven best practice poster sessions.
Just1Call staff are the recipients of the team award in the focus area Social, Education & Economic Opportunity for the Just1Call service utilizing contemporary technology to provide expansive, updated information and assistance to constituents.
Blue Diamond Award
A computer application created for Just1Call, the County's information referral program that offers service to the elderly, the disabled, and their caregivers, recently won a Blue Diamond Award from the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

When a government program wins awards from three different groups—one national, one statewide and one local—it tends to make folks stand up and take notice.
Coordinator Wins Award
A state association awarded Alan Geltman, coordinator of the Just1Call (J1C) program for seniors, adults with disabilities and their families, its top honor for an individual who works in the information and referral services area.
State Technology Honors
A North Carolina association whose mission is to make technology number one in the state has given a top award to Just1Call, the Mecklenburg County information services program for seniors, adults with disabilities, and their families.
Received over 13,000 telephone calls. Received an estimated 15,000 visits to its World Wide Web site, some from as far away as South America. Made nearly 30,000 referrals to more than 700 different service providers.
NACO Model Program Award
Just1Call is a comprehensive program that enables an older adult, an adult with disabilities, their families or caregiver to make one contact to obtain accurate, up-to-date information, assessment of need and access to care.
