Senior Day Trip to Mount Airy

We're off to see Andy Griffin's home town- Mount Airy, North Carolina. Legend has it that Mount Airy served as the inspiration for Mayberry. We'll tour the Andy Griffin Museum to get an in-dept look at the entertainer, his long career, and his hometown humor. Admission includes entry into the Museum, the adjacent Siamese Twins Exhibit, and the Old-Time Music Heritage Hall at the Historic Earle Theatre on Main Street (which we can visit after lunch).
Nutcracker Ballet Dress Rehearsal
Time: 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Charlotte Ballet invites Senior Adults to the dress rehearsal of "The Nutcracker". Take a trip to experience a live, professional ballet rehearsal. Seniors will visit the Center for Dance, Belk Theatre for a daytime rehearsal of the production. There will be an opportunity to ask the professional dancers questions during a Q&A.

Wing Haven has been a special part of Charlotte since its creation by Elizabeth and Edwin Clarkson in 1927. The gardens, enclosed on all sides by brick walls, encompass almost three acres in the heart of Charlotte and include lovely vistas, formal gardens, and woodland areas. Throughout, the emphasis is on plantings for birds and other wildlife - providing cover, nesting sites, food, and water. Plaques and statuary, integrated into the garden walls and paths, reflect the spirit and beauty of Wing Haven and its creators.
