Healthcare.Gov/Federally Facilitated Marketplace Medicaid Applications Update January 2, 2014
IF YOU HAVE SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION FOR MEDICAID VIA THE FEDERAL MARKETPLACE:
Unfortunately, there have been issues in the marketplace with transferring information to the local Departments of Social Services, which means that applications from the marketplace have not yet been received by this office. At this time, we do not have a definitive date as to when that transfer will occur; however, we have been informed that there are several thousand applications pending in the marketplace. Based on that volume, it will take several months to get through all of those applications once they are actually received.
For this reason, it is our recommendation that you complete an on-line application for Medicaid via www.epass.nc.gov
. This is the North Carolina website where information about Medicaid and Food and Nutrition Services can be found, potential eligibility determined, and an actual application completed and submitted. If you have already submitted an application via the marketplace, your original date of application will be honored once those applications are received.
