Susan JonesSusan Jones
Health Educator, Health Department

In my job as a Health Educator for the Mecklenburg County Health Department, I implement a Child Abuse Awareness Program for the Fourth Graders in CMS.

My purpose is to educate them about Child Abuse. My primary goal is for them to understand they need to tell an adult if they suspect something is happening to themselves or their friend.

Over the years I’ve found that kids really do care about one another and can usually find an adult they can trust with the information. As adults, it is our responsibility to nurture our kids and be ready to listen to them. I love my job and making a difference in a child’s life. This passion for my job is what enables me to continue to reach over 7,000 kids a year in our schools.
