​Register Now for the 2017 Senior Games


senior gamesThe Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department invites all active adults and seniors, age 50 or better, to register now for the 2017 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Games & Silver Arts. Early bird registration is $20 and ends March 3. Final registration is $25 and ends March 17. Limited financial scholarships will be available for those who qualify. Events and activities are scheduled at various venues throughout the County between April 8 and June 3.

Participants will be able to sign up two different ways:

  • Download the registration packet from and mail it to the Tyvola Senior Center, 2225 Tyvola Road, Charlotte, 28210.
  • Visit a County recreation or senior center and staff can assist you.

Senior Games athletic events include swimming, golf, tennis, 3-on-3 basketball, racquetball, badminton, track and field, croquet, corn hole, pickle ball, cycling, softball, football throw, spin casting, basketball shoot, softball throw, bowling, table tennis, billiards, archery, bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard.

Silver Arts are non-athletic events such as visual and performing arts: basket weaving, china painting, crocheting, rugs, jewelry, knitting, needlework, pottery, quilting, stained glass, tatting and needle lace, decorative painting, weaving, woodcarving, woodworking, woodturning, ceramics, acrylics, drawing, mixed media, oil, pastels, photography, sculptures, water color, essays, life experiences, poems, short stories, comedy/drama, dance, instrumental, vocal, cheerleading and line dancing.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Games draws 300 participants annually with many qualifying and advancing to the state and national games.
