​Free Health Risk Assessments for Seniors Offered this Spring

blood pressure examMecklenburg County Park and Recreation, UNC Charlotte and Sharon Towers are partnering to offer free health risk assessments this spring for seniors, ages 60 and better, at various recreation and senior centers throughout the County.

The assessments include blood pressure evaluations, blood profile/HbA1c, pulmonary function, movement function and body composition. Participants will receive a free explanation and a copy of the results, as well as referrals to medical care and exercise opportunities. No insurance or copay required.

Assessments will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:

  • April 4 - Tyvola Senior Center, 2225 Tyvola Road
  • April 24 - Shamrock Senior Center at Methodist Home Recreation Center, 3200 Shamrock Drive
  • May 10 - Southview Recreation Center, 1720 Vilma Street
  • May 18 - Mallard Creek Recreation Center, 2530 Johnston-Oehler Road
  • May 22 - Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center, 2921 Tuckaseegee Road
  • June 5 - North Meck Senior Center, 102 Gilead Road
