​County Announces Closings for Veterans Day

American FlagMecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.

This includes all units of the Department of Social Services, the Tax Office, Elections Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency (LUESA) Office.

The Department of Social Services Care Line (704-336-CARE or 704-336-2273) operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect of children, the elderly or disabled adults.

All Public Health facilities will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11.

The Main Library and all library branches will close on Friday, Nov. 11.

All Solid Waste facilities will be open regular hours on Friday, Nov. 11.

Solid Waste administrative offices will be closed.

The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services will provide collection services according to the normal schedule.

If you are in a town, please check with your town for refuse collection schedules.

Park and Recreation administrative offices, Recreation and Senior Centers will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11. Nature centers will be open normal hours. 

The Marion Diehl Pool will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Ray’s Splash Planet will operate from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The

Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center will open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. 
Grayson SkatePark and the Naomi Drenan Center will operate from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.

As a reminder, CharMeck 311 is open and available to the public Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
