• Achievement Award (with Mecklenburg County GIS) for FINS Live

National Association of County Information Officers -

• Superior Award for script-writing and Meritorious Award for video production of Fay: One Year After video 
• Meritorious Award for citizen education for Four-Tier Storm Water rate structure public education campaign

National Association of Flood & Storm Water Management Agencies -

• Exceptional Merit Award for Communication Excellence and First Place for Public Awareness of Flooding and Flood Prevention Communication.

The Association of State Floodplain Managers - 

• James Lee Witt Award for excellence in local floodplain management. Award goes to an "overall program which epitomizes the best in floodplain management."

Hydrologic Warning Council - 

• Operational Excellence Award jointly to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and the US Geological Survey for the FINS system.    

2008  

National Association of County Information Officers -     

• Meritorious Special Projects Award for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services' Joint Agency Public Relations Plan.

American Advertising Federation (Charlotte Chapter) - 

• Silver ADDY Award in the Public Service category for the Storm Water Services "Don't Dump Here" television media campaign.

2007

American Meteorological Society - 

• Award for Excellence in Science Reporting by a Broadcast Meteorologist given to Meteorologist Terri Bennett for the Water Wise partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services.

National Association of Flood & Storm Water Management Agencies -

• First Place for Excellence in Water Quality Education Communication for Storm Water Services" volunteer programs.

2006

• President's Award for excellence in communication.

Centralina Council of Governments -     • Excellence in Environmental Planning and Conservation for        Hidden Valley Ecological Garden, stream restoration and       wetland creation to improve water quality in Little Sugar Creek.

• Government Project of the Year for Little Sugar Creek-Westfield Road stream restoration, wetland creation and greenway expansion project.

International Erosion Control Association – 

• Environmental Achievement Award for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Certified Site Inspector training program.
