Four Mile Creek Watershed
Location description: Southern edge of Mecklenburg County

A unique creek: Gold flakes are occasionally seen in the creek, tiny reminders of this region’s fifty-year gold rush that began in 1799.

Name game: Rocky Branch is often confused with the Rocky River. Rocky Branch flows into Four Mile Creek in southern Mecklenburg County. The Rocky River is in Davidson, in the northern part of the county.
