A unique creek: The 11th president of the United States, James K. Polk, grew up on a farm along the banks of Lower Little Sugar Creek in what is now Pineville.
Name game: Little Sugar Creek and Sugar Creek are often confused. The two watersheds are side by side, with Sugar Creek to the west and Little Sugar Creek to the east.
